Daydreaming on a late spring afternoon....so pretty and so dreamy.  Acrylic on canvas.  16" x 20".  This was a commissioned piece for a retirement gift for an employee who worked at a hospital.  I was honoured to create this piece for this individual.  Dreaming...making dreams come true especially in retirement!  

 

Just Loving You!

There's a song by Jenn Grant in her CD "Compostella" and it's beautiful... "No one's gonna love you quite like I do..... no one's gonna love you, no one's gonna love you like I do....."  the lyrics keep playing in my head as does her beautiful clear voice.  I sat creating the painting of these birches while listening to that song and her CD.  Here's what happened when love happened! This painting raised $700.00 in a silent auction on Friday evening to help the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Center.  Thank you to the buyer for helping such an important place.  The ROMHC is a place of hope when people don't think there is hope left.  It's a place to heal for those that need help with mental illness.  Lucky to have this in our community for anyone that needs this life line.  I am honoured to be able to help.

Birch Beauty

Birch trees are one of my favourite trees....there's a spirituality, a life force that I feel when I am out in the woods where Birch trees are....They whisper, the dance, they shine in the sun.  They are strong and grounded.  Birches are beautiful!

New Beginnings

Happy 2015 to all!

I have come back to my easel.  I have spent many hours with myself in my studio and let the colours and the music wrap itself around me taking me to places where I love to explore more with paints, colours and mixed media.  Time flies when I'm creating, painting and exploring with art -- doing what I love!

"When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore....."  Dean Martin and his song remind me of New York City - don't know why but this song does.  It also takes me back to one of my favourite movies "Moonstruck" with Cher and Nicholas Cage.
Ahhhhh! NYC, The Big Apple.... a place where I have gone and love to go.  Skyscrapers reaching to meet the sky kissing the stars at night and making them light up....it's simply magic!

Hommage to Edwin Holgate

Some of my favourite artists include the Group of Seven.  This painting is oil on canvas and is titled "Hommage to Edwin Holgate".  Holgate was one of the group of seven and this painting is for sale.  I am excited to share some good news....
